The digitisation of processes which have mostly taken place by analogue means so far is not only an important issue but also inevitable for many companies. Storytelling needs to have a wide reach and mesmerise the reader, and storytellers must be quick and effective. Berlin based company Beemgee.com specialises in that and since this year has been offering a free tool for structuring plot and developing characters to storytellers of all kinds. Many authors start by first outlining the story: they create a framework and determine the storyline. Without such planning work, the author would run the risk of literally losing the plot.

This is where Beemgee comes into play, helping authors to develop a solid outline. For content producing media companies, publishers and private authors to be able to mesmerise the reader with their stories, the webapp offers a tool which arranges ideas and items chronologically as well as in the narrative order, which makes it a good tool for developing dramaturgy. Also, the webapp enables authors to work on their storyline while on the go - flexible storytelling everywhere and at all times.

And Beemgee not only helps novelists: The rules of storytelling apply to every story, no matter if told in text format, as a movie, using sound or through any other form of communication. So far, screenwriters have been creating their stories with the help of mood boards, mind maps and hand-written notes. Beemgee's tool, however, supports the digitisation process and facilitates the work of movie makers. The creation of the narrative structure can be done using so-called event cards with cards being displayed on a horizontal axis. Using this timeline, the user can zoom in or out, rearrange the cards, sort them, save and compare them.
