Verband der Spiele-Branche (Association of the Games Industry) has founded new service company
Thorsten Unger, Managing Director of the Bundesverband der deutschen Games-Branche e.V, said that by initiating the GmbH (the German equivalent of a limited liability company) the association’s executive board has accommodated the request of its members whose number has grown to nearly 110 by now. The aim of the foundation was to separate the representation of interest side of the association from its entrepreneurial branch. Stefan Marcinek will be the new Managing Director of the service company. Elaborating on the new structure he said that this was a standard model in other industries and the next logical step in professionalising the company.
The Game Servicegesellschaft will act as a link between the market and the organisation’s lobby work, offering professional services driven by business motivation for the association that is primarily non-material in nature. GAME is the largest industry association in Germany dedicated to the development of digital games. In the past three years, the number of its members has doubled.
