Berlin Fashion Week, 18-22 January

The national and international fashion scenes come together during the Berlin Fashion Week where both established designers and emerging design talents present their current autumn and winter collections for 2016/2017. Purchasers, industry visitors and journalists from Germany and abroad are invited to attend the event during which 200,000 industry visitors are expected.

Berlin Tech Meetup, 21 January

 

The Berlin Tech Meetup is a regular event for the tech scene to discuss trends and ideas. During the meet, typically five to six start-ups are given the opportunity to present their current products. Afterwards, the presented concepts will be discussed, usually over some drinks. The next meetup will take place on 21 January.

The Berlin International Film Festival, better known as the Berlinale, has established itself as one of the major events for the international film circuit. Films from various sections are shown at Berlin cinemas during the festival with the 'competition' section being the most important one. Tech Open Air, 13-15 July

 

First taking place in 2012, Tech Open Air, also known as TOA, has established itself as Berlin's annual technology festival. An interdisciplinary conference, it provides a platform for entrepreneurs, artists and scientist to get together. Last year, 3,000 visitors attended the Berlin start-up night, where 160 start-ups introduced themselves to the public. The event aims to help start-ups gain public awareness and meet up with potential investors. Workshops and discussion panels are also part of the event.
