"Berlin Startup Agenda" optimizes startup environment
In 2015, the federal state of Berlin founded Berlin Startup Unit together with partners in the startup sector. In the framework of seven initiatives the city administration, startups and organizations work together to improve the conditions for founders. The "Berlin Startup Agenda", a report on their findings, provides an overview of the situation and includes specific proposals for further improvements in the areas of talents, capital, infrastructure, networking and internationalization.
The results in the areas of financing, networking and infrastructure, in particular, are based on the initiative by the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research and Projekt Zukunft, including the re-issue of state-owned venture capital funds in the amount of 100 million euros, the adaptation of funding programmes to the needs of startups, the support of incubators and digital centres, formats aimed at connecting startups – on both SME and corporate level as well as internationally – and an overview of labs and coworking spaces in Berlin.
