In the context of current discussions on future trends and media technologies, the event stands out by offering a hands-on approach using practical tools and concrete application examples.

The focus of this year's conference is on the symbiosis of technology and storytelling.

Visitors can look forward to numerous talks and discussion with prestigious speakers from the US, the UK, France and other European countries. 

CHANGING THE PICTURE will bring together speakers and visitors from all over the world who will discuss and experience in various discussion formats and tech sessions the latest technological innovations in the entertainment industry.

Programme:

1st day:

  • Talks on important technologies and applications in the form of keynotes and panels as well as discussions with participants 

  • Talks and discussions on issues such as content production, distribution in film, TV, and internet followed by specific insights and prospects: UHD/HDR/HFR; technical and descriptive meta data; the relevance of social media and tech companies as new actors in the entertainment industry; smart sound in interactive formats.

2nd day:

  • Tech sessions

  • The best collaborative production tools, sound concepts, storytelling in 360° videos, volumetric virtual reality and a workshop on HDR/HFR will serve as ultra-modern experimental spaces.

The extended matchmaking programme will be presented for the first time in collaboration with the European Enterprise Network (EEN) and will facilitate one-on-one meetings between participants from the industry.

The interactive offer of CHANGING THE PICTURE is primarily aimed at professionals who work in film, TV and digital content production. The range of target groups includes scriptwriters and producers, trans-media and VR/AR developers as well as broadcasters, online platforms, cinema distributors and digital media professionals.

The much-anticipated highlight of the event will be the final keynote presentation titled “Perspectives of VR Storytelling for the Media/TV Industry“ by Michael Koperwas, one of the VR pioneers who founded ILMxLAB (part of Industrial Light & Magic) in San Francisco in 2016. There, he has been working on numerous VR projects, such as a Star Wars VR experience. In his presentation on 18 November, Koperwas will talk about the hot topic of virtual reality in the context of the traditional media industry.

The conference language will be English.
