“With this new platform, we aim to close the gap between founders, investors, the government and corporations, in order to promote brand creation, growth and development for startups working in the food industry,” Jewell Sparks said.

According to Jan-Frieder Damm, the food industry is one of the “most strongly consolidated industries”. He predicts the food sector to undergo a massive change going forward which is why it is important to offer thought leaders in the industry a platform to articulate their ideas. The expert group intends to structurally support impulses from the startup ecosystem relating to food and food tech and to create a responsive environment by promoting their agenda on a political, economic and institutional level.
