What is the most important invention since Konrad Zuse?
Konrad Zuse created with his work the foundation of today's digitalized and networked world. Many things that apply to us today as a matter of course would not exist without his influence. From the perspective of Absolventa certainly the Internet - and the many opportunities to network are quite outstanding and make up the most significant development since the invention of the computer.
To what extent do you follow the tradition of Konrad Zuse?
Konrad Zuse was very passionate. He had a great vision and implemented it. At Absolventa, this is an integral part of the corporate culture. We support young professionals in choosing the right employer and the right job, while at the same time we help companies to discover young talents.
At Absolventa we are a young team that understands the issues and problems of young graduates, as we have experienced this not too long ago ourselves.
Berlin is ...
... brutally honest, wonderfully mad and refreshingly versatile: The ideal breeding-ground for young companies that forge on innovative ideas. And for us; to both the latest trends and developments and to participate as well as to be close the generation of graduates.
How did you get into IT?
Matthias Ernst: An affinity for numbers and fun at solving problems brought me here. I have especially found that my strength lies in understanding both the IT and the business side of an issue. In this interface role I see myself as a manager of a very technology-heavy, young company.
What was the idea behind Absolventa and what it all about?
Matthias Ernst: Absolventa arose out of the idea to create a platform for graduates, as I would have liked it after I had graduated. Uncomplicated, yet technologically advanced to establish contact between graduates and employers - that was our goal. Meanwhile have the Absolventa Jobnet, which is great: with different target group-specific portals for highly qualified young people.
How will IT evolve in the future?
Mathhias Ernst: The hardware is still small, fast and ubiquitous. This leads in my opinion to the fact that we will not perceive IT in everyday life any longer. It will become a part of our lives just like the air we breathe. This opens up many new opportunities, but also brings with it strong dependencies. From the Absolventa-view we see the currently ever-growing mobile and social networks as very relevant because there are more and more new behaviours that are displayed by the candidates that we need to address.
